Arthur "Art" Eugene Fulk, age 71, of Freedom, passed away peacefully at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. He was born in Freedom on November 29, 1947, the son of Charles Arthur Fulk & Winona Adela (Speas) Fulk.
Art was a 1965 graduate of Patricksburg High School and earned his Bachelor Degree in 1971 in Electrical Engineering at Purdue University. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed working as a farmer for many years, as a caretaker of Dutch Bethel Church and Cemetery, the Cable Converter Company in Spencer, Spencer Cord Factory, and PTS Electronics in Bloomington.
Art was a member of the Dutch Bethel Church of Christ. He enjoyed being outside, gardening, working on equipment, hunt and sold ginseng, working Sudoku, loved to read, and truly enjoyed others, never meeting a stranger.
He is survived by his wife whom he married June 7, 1986, Joan (Miller) Fulk of Freedom, children, Sarah M. (William) Wall of Gosport, Jerry E. (Karina) Fulk of Ashboro, and Michael B. Fulk of Ashboro, five grandchildren, Dustin, David, Kaylee, Claira, and Hunter, and one grandson due in February, and four brothers, Renos, Benny, Kenneth, & David, two sisters, Louetta Wharry and Winona "Noni" Linder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Galen Fulk.
Funeral service will be held at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M on Monday, December 31, 2018. Burial will follow at Dutch Bethel Cemetery in Freedom with military graveside rites by the Owen County Honor Guard.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-6 P.M., and Monday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service.
