Barbara Joyce (Knapp) June, age 78, of Pensacola, Florida, formerly of Spencer, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Tuesday, August 28, 2018. She was born on November 14, 1939 in Freedom, Indiana to Paul D. and Nina D. (White) Knapp.
She graduated from Freedom High School in 1957. She was a charter member of the Rainbow Girls.
On February 15, 1959, she married Carl A. June. They divorced in 1980. She retired from Indiana Bell Phone Company in 1992, and after moving to Pensacola, she worked for MCI Communications and was a member of the Communication Workers of America.
She attended the Warrington Presbyterian Church in Pensacola.
She is survived by her son, Terry (Dianna) June of Spencer, her daughters, Paula (the late Max) Fulford of Martinsville, Carla (Randy) Wilson of Spencer, Robin (Gary) Mitchell of Spencer, and Nancy (Ed) Burdine of Freedom. She is also survived by her sister, Joan Knapp of Martinsville, and her brother, Lonnie E. Knapp of Spencer.
She adored her ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She also had two nephews and three great-nephews.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, one grandson, and her former husband, Carl A. June.
Graveside services will be at White Cemetery on Dunn Rd in Freedom, at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 with Dr. Alan Lewis officiating. Followed by a celebration of life at the Freedom Community Center in Freedom.
