Charles R. Lane, 94, of Terre Haute, formerly of Freedom, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 3, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Mooresville, Indiana on August 5, 1924 to Henry and Julia (Reynolds)Lane.
Charles attended the Freedom High School. He married the love of his life, Alma (Boler) Lane on September 25, 1948 in Spencer. Charles was a mechanic for several years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and loved spending time with his grandkids.
Charles is survived by his children Charles (Ann) Lane of Henderson, Tennessee, Mary (Don) Fields of Terre Haute, Indiana, Jane (David) Boston of Tallassee, Alabama; brother Don (Pat) Lane of Iowa; grandchildren Tenisha (Robert) Lane, Dawn (Chris) Chandler, Don (Penny) Fields Jr, Michelle Lane, Amanda (Allen) Ledbetter, Amber (Hebrew) Lyons, David Jo (Trish) Boston II, Paul Lane Jr, Brandy Lane, Jessica Pershing, Rachel (Jason) Weisenberger, Jamie (Kory) Terrell; 24 great grandchildren and 9 great great-grandchildren with one being his special buddy and partner in crime Lucy.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alma Lane, son Paul Lane, grandson Noah Lyons, and brothers Bill, Ed, Leon and Wallie Lane.
Funeral service will be held at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 11, 2019 with Pastor Mary Kidwell officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 AM until the time of service.
