Chester L. Maners, 85, of Whitehall, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at the I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital. Chester was born in Owen County, Indiana on February 12, 1932 to Everett and Opal (Brown) Maners. Chester retired from R.C.A. in Bloomington, Indiana and was a lifelong member of the Liberty Church of Christ of Hendricksville.
Chester loved music, recording an album with his wife in the groups, Pure Silver and The Countrymen. Chester loved to do anything outdoors, including mowing, gardening and cutting firewood.
Chester is survived by his daughters, Karen S. Wells of Arney, Kathy A. (Kevin) Burk of Bloomington, Teresa R. (Scott) Lantz of Florida, son, Terry L. Maners of Ellettsville, grandchildren, Brad (Stephanie) White, Kristie Hayduk, Aaron (Amanda) Wells, Lisa Maners, Carissa (Chris) Colvin, Benjamin L. (Kristen) Wells, Christopher (Pauline) Lantz, Angel Lantz, Joshua (Kirsten) Lantz, fourteen great-grandchildren, brother, Donald Maners, sister, Loraine Martin, companion, Ruth Floyd and several nieces and nephews.
Chester was preceded in death by both parents, his wife, Doris M. (Watkins) Maners in 2006, brother, Carlton Maners, sisters, Geneva Weddle and Pauline McCloud, grandson, Jeremy Maners, and son-in-law Mike Wells.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, February 9, 2018 at the West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, Spencer. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Hendricksville.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM Friday until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty Church of Christ or charity of ones choice through the funeral home. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.westparrishpedigo.com.
