Delores Maxine Lechien, age 78, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 3:50 am on Friday, February 1, 2019, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. She was born in Greene County, IN on October 3, 1940, the daughter of the late Paul Rice & Marjorie (Hart) Judd Winters.
She was a graduate of Linton High School and also received her Associates Degree for LPN at Ivy Tech in Terre Haute. She worked at Miller's Merry Manor and retired from Greene County General Hospital in 2004.
She enjoyed volunteering at the Greene County General Auxiliary and the Linton Food Pantry. She loved woodworking and oil painting but her kids, grandkids and great grandkids were her greatest love.
Delores is survived by her loving children, Rick (Leslie) Lechien of Linton, Dana Lechien of Erlanger, KY, Robin (Greg) Goodall of Walland, TN and Lorie (Mark Burgess) Cullison of Sandborn; grandchildren, Trey (Rachelle Quakenbush) Lechien, Peyton Lechien, Ron Wilkerson, Dane Wilkerson, Amanda (Kyle Barmlage) Cubert, Keith Cubert, Brittany (Aaron) Withrow and Nathan Lechien, Alexus Cullison, Gunner Burgess, Emma Burgess; great grandchildren, Cora Withrow, Clara Withrow, Harlow Lechien, Mark Bramlage and Cason Sargent; brothers, Paul Rice, Frank Rice and Ron Rice; sisters, Clara Caylor, Flara Richards and Pauletta Swanson; sister-in-law, Sue Lechien; brother-in-law, Steve (Barbara) Lechien; companion, John Donathen and adored pet, Abby Ann.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Lechien; brother, Sherman Rice; brother-in-law, Jerry Lechien and grandchild, Grant Burgess.
Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, with Pastor David Tyra officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 pm and on Wednesday from 12 NOON until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Linton Food Pantry through the funeral home.
