Deloris "Dee" Miller, age 84, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 7:45 am on Friday, February 9, 2018, at Glenburn Home in Linton. She was born in Linton on March 10, 1933, the daughter of Audie & Ruth (Riggs) Swaby.
Deloris was a graduate of Midland High School and Union Hospital School of Nursing. She was a devoted daughter and sister, a wonderful wife, and a loving mother to her children, grandchildren, and to "Peppy", her very close canine buddy. Throughout her life as a Registered Nurse, she always enjoyed helping people whether she worked in private care, in a convalescent facility, or as a school nurse.
Dee enjoyed many facets of life, but her favorite was her church to which she was extremely devoted. Known for her cooking skills and beautiful flowers, Dee will be missed by many.
She is survived by her two daughters, Robin (Randy) Alexander of Dugger and Renee (Brent) Sears of Linton, Son, Dane (Shana) Miller of Terre Haute, grandchildren, Jay (Nicole) Alexander, Evan Alexander, Daniel Sears, Aubrey (Chris) Cooper, Madeline and Sophie Miller, great-grandchildren, Anastasia Alexander, Jayce Sears, Jackson Sears, Sloan Cooper, and a great-granddaughter due this month, a sister, Janice Borders of Linton, and a brother, Wally (Connie) Swaby of Linton.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Vernon "Bud" L Miller, and her parents.
Funeral service will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church in Linton at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, with Reverends Kenneth Adams & John Winders officiating. Burial will follow at Peavey Cemetery in Jasonville.
Visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Monday from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, and Tuesday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church AWANA program through the funeral home.
