Donald E. Freeman, 91, of Bloomington, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the I.U. Health Hospice House in Bloomington. Donald was born in Bloomington, Indiana on May 29, 1927, to Johnnie and Goldie (Bruner) Freeman. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army. Donald was a long time member of the Salem Separate Baptist Church. Donald retired from Wetterau-Super Valu after 40 plus years.
Donald is survived by his children; Timothy and wife Billie Joyce Freeman of Spencer, Mary Ann and husband Roger Sink of Spencer, Philip Jay Freeman of Martinsville, grandchildren; Tammy Love, Vedina Dean, April Dean, Angela and husband Deron Freeman, Kimberly Freeman, Rob and wife Tammy Spears, Jennifer and husband Richard Gieselman, Daniel and wife Lora Sink, Beth and husband Andy Cline, Baily Freeman, twenty eight great-grandchildren, thirty seven great-great-grandchildren, siblings; Sammy Freeman, Johnnie Jr. and wife Mildred Freeman, Nancy Pearl Fulk, Ira Freeman, Martha Ann and husband Herb Hamm, Rosa Mae and husband Larry Hendricks, Barbara Jane McQueen and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; wife; Martha Joann (Livingston), daughter-in-law; Sherry Lynn Freeman, infant sister; Lois Freeman, brothers; Russell and wife Margaret Freeman, Joseph and wife Lavern Freeman, Harvey Leon and wife Carolyn Freeman, sister-in-laws; Irma Freeman, Linda Freeman, and brother-in-law; Donald Fulk.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, 105 North Montgomery Street, Spencer. Pastors Ed Tharp and Craig Bell will officiate. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memorial Gardens in Bloomington.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday, March 15, 2019 and again 10:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday, both at the funeral home.
