Douglas "Doug" R. Christenberry, 50, of Spencer, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Doug was born in Bloomington, Indiana on February 15, 1969, to Howard "Johnny" W. and Connie J. (Brinson) Christenberry. Doug graduated from Owen Valley High School in 1987, where he was in the Show Choir. He worked for G.E. and then became a surgical technician. Doug worked at the Indiana Specialty Surgery Center where he was known for his dedication to work and sense of humor. Doug loved Jiffy Treat, Mexican cuisine, and Burger King. He was known as a "clean freak", loved riding his Harley Davidson, driving his Jeep, shooting guns, fishing and working in his garage. He was a member of the Ellettsville Jeeps Only Club. Doug was loved by all who knew him and never met a stranger, he would help anyone who needed it and will be truly missed.
Doug is survived by his mother, Connie and husband Dave Roberts, son, Matthew Douglas Christenberry of Bloomfield, daughter, Kaytlin Ann Christenberry of Bloomfield, their mother, Kimberly (Cullison) Christenberry, granddaughter, Melody Love Christenberry of Alaska, sister, Brenda J. and husband Mark Terrell, and several nieces and nephews.
Doug was preceded in death by his father, brother, James "Jamey" Christenberry.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the Christian Life Center, 157 South Montgomery Street, Spencer. Brother Gary Brinson will officiate. Burial will follow in Gross Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday, August 9, 2019 and again, 9:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday, all at the Christian Life Center.
Memorial contributions may be made in Doug's memory to the charity of ones choice through the funeral home.
