Glenn Edward Strunk, 60, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Bloomington Hospital due to complications arising from cancer treatment.
Born February 4, 1959 in Bedford, Indiana, he was the son of Orville Glen Strunk and Phyllis Ann (Turner) Strunk. Graduating from Owen Valley High School with the class of 1978, Glenn went on to pursue a career in the criminal justice field -- soon finding himself working as an officer, sergeant, and captain at Putnamville Correctional Facility for 30 years.
Before his health began to decline, Glenn enjoyed mushroom, ginseng and bottle hunting, hiking and drawing. Cartoons, Live PD, and, of course, all things John Wayne remained a staple in his life. He was always there for his children, grandchildren and grandkitties and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Let's not forget his humorous side either. Even in poor health, he still managed to make jokes, just like he always had. Some who knew him before his health began to decline would be surprised to learn he traded in all his spicy foods for sweets!
Glenn is survived by the love of his life of 40+ years, Pamela of Bloomington; one son, Nicholas (Cory) of Madison; two daughters, Marissa (Jed) of Spencer and Mariah "Mya" (Brandon) of Oregon; six grandchildren, Rocco and Rilla Strunk, Brooklyn and Hudson Fletcher, Alexander and Kylie Polsfoot; two grandkitties, Kitty and Ruby; one granddog, Chevy; two sisters, Cindy and Robin (Ron); and one brother, Bruce.
Greeting him in Heaven were his parents; Orville and Phyllis (Turner) Strunk; grandparents, Thomas Fount and Emma (Hardwick) Strunk and Emery "Perc" and Mable (Holmes) Turner; aunt, Norma Hutchinson; uncle, Kenneth Hutchinson, among many more beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
