June D. Hacker, 65, of Bloomington, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at the IU Health Bloomington Hospital after fighting a long battle with cancer and complications from Mixed Connective Tissue Disease. June was born on August 18, 1953 in Bloomington, IN to William "Ernie" and Helen (Lutz) Hacker.
June graduated from Owen Valley High School in 1971. She earned a BA in English from Indiana University. June married the love of her life Dennis Campbell on November 26, 1977. She worked at Sears for ten years and twenty-five years at Indiana University in the College of Arts and Sciences, retiring in 2018 due to her illness.
June was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved animals, flower gardening and word puzzles. She was raised in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and later attended the Sherwood Oaks Christian Church. June had many wonderful friends who supported her with prayers and encouragement during her illness.
June is survived by her loving husband Dennis Campbell, two daughters Deanna Kroskie (Ryan) and Jillian Campbell (James Lindsey), brother Jim Hacker (Cindy), and two grandsons Nolan and Grant Kroskie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Earl Hacker.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer, IN with John Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Gross Cemetery in Whitehall, IN.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Friday and 10 AM Saturday until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to ASPCA the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
