Lawrence "Larry" H. Ehrmann, age 78, of Coal City, passed away peacefully at 8:10 A.M. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Aperion Care of Spencer. He was born in Chicago, IL on September 19, 1940, the son of Henry & Margaret (Morris) Ehrmann.
Larry worked as a self-employed sales engineer and part-time police officer in Hazel Crest, IL and Spencer, IN. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police of Spencer and an active Knights of Columbus Father Ryan Council #6679 in Linton.
He was a train collector, enjoyed gardening, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Donna A. (Wight) Ehrmann of Coal City, his four children, Laura (Kurt) Hartman of Lebanon, Carole (Mark Byrne) Jones of Freedom, Jean Ehrmann of Brazil, and Jim (Darlessia) Ehrmann of Gosport, five grandchildren, Erich Hartman, Emily (Nathan) Harpel, Matthew Ehrmann, Jason Ehrmann, and Daphanie Ehrmann, one great-granddaughter, Karsyn Harpel, one brother, Richard Ehrmann Burr Ridge, IL, a sister, Barbara Filipski of Glendale, IL, a brother-in-law, Vic Petroluinas of Oak Park, IL, sisters-in-law, Sharon Skala Crete, IL and Carole Tyderek of Lansing, IL, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Maribeth Petroluinas, an infant sister, Ellen Ehrmann, a sister-in-law, Cynthia Ehrmann, and brothers-in-law, Stanley Skala and Roger Tyderek, Sr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Name Catholic Church in Bloomfield at 10:00 A.M. on May 11, 2019, with Father Biju Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Fiscus Cemetery in Coal City.
Visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington on Friday from 5-8 P.M., with rosary recited at 7 P.M. and a Knights of Columbus service immediately following, and at the church from 9 A.M. until the time of Mass.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's or the Lighthouse Mission, Inc. in Terre Haute, through funeral home.
