Mildred F. (Price) Hodges, 97, of Spencer, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2018 at the I.U. Health Hospice House in Bloomington. Mildred was born on August 12, 1921 in Owen County to Edgar and Florence (Orman) Price. Mildred was a graduate of the Bowling Green High School and a lifelong member of the Nazarene Church of Spencer. Mildred retired from Indiana Bell Telephone Company after 43 years of service, where she began as a "night relief operator". Mildred also belonged to the TellaBells Luncheon Group. She was an amazing lady who dearly loved her family, friends, and neighbors. Mildred was known for her gardening, flowers and making over fifty plus quilts. Mildred also delighted in the fact that she was one of the original patients at the Gosport Family Medicine practice in Gosport.
Mildred is survived by her daughter, Anita Stines and significant other Daryl Riley, of Spencer, granddaughter, Melanie Lester-Lucas and husband Chad of Baytown, Texas, great-grandchildren, Alexis Flores, Alyssa Lucas, great-great-granddaughter, Addison Parker, one sister-in-law, Mary Price and several nieces and nephews.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husband(Married in 1950)Nelson S. Hodges, sisters, Immogene Hunsicker and husband, Ralph, Winona Hall and husband, Harry, and brother, Verlin "Bud" Price.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Nazarene Church of Spencer. Pastor Gary Davey will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
