Noble Jay “Bud” Scott, age 79, of Hymera, passed away at 5:17 p.m. on Monday, September 3, 2018, at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Terre Haute on November 16, 1938, the son of Harry D., Sr. & Eva (DeMoss) Scott.
Bud served our country in the United States Army. He worked as a welder in the oil fields. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and his time coaching wrestling and girls softball.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Barbara J, (Sumner) Scott, two daughters, Darla (Juan) Quezada of Bellflower, CA and Debra Varela of LasVegas, Nevada, a son, Timothy Scott of Hymera, two sisters, Helen Eyre of Hymera and Wanda Totten of Port Charolette, Florida, twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, ten brothers, and one sister.
Visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton from 3-6 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2018, with military honors given by the Linton American Legion Post #22 at 6 p.m.
Burial will be held at a later date at Peavey Cemetery in Jasonville.
