Perry Francis Armstrong Jr., 74, of Spencer passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at his home. He was born on December 3, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana the son of Perry & Beatrice (Ingram) Armstrong Sr.
Perry was a graduate of Ben Davis High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, receiving the Purple Heart medal. Perry worked as a driver for Yellow Freight Systems. He attended the Spencer Presbyterian Church and was a member of Teamsters Local 135, Masonic Lodge in Waverly and VFW Post 1405 in Spencer.
Perry is survived by his wife, Deanne (Castelli) Armstrong of Spencer, IN; five children, Emma Hale and Dylan Hale both of Spencer, IN, Eric McCormick (Jennifer) of Greenwood, IN, Kelly Kester (Amen) of Albuquerque, NM, Stephenie McCormick of Indianapolis, IN and a bonus daughter, Sarah Allison Armstrong of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Connor Hancock, Christopher Holman and Gabriel Holman; niece Jessica Atwood and great niece Rhiannon Atwood, of Spencer, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, William "Bill" Armstrong and Steven Armstrong.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at the Spencer Presbyterian Church with Pastor David Lee officiating. A luncheon will follow the service. Military rites will be given by the Owen County Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM Thursday until the time of service at the church.
