Robert G. "Bob" Lundy, age 90, of Switz City, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday afternoon, September 8, 2018. He was born in Switz City on February 25, 1928, the son of Charles William & Macel (Wright) Lundy.
Bob was a 1945 graduate of Switz City Central High School and U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He retired from the Indiana State Highway Department after 44 years of service.
He was a member of the Switz City Baptist Church.
He was a licensed watch maker, enjoying working on clocks. He loved doing woodwork and could fix most anything. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, 4-wheelers, hunting and fishing.
Bob is survived by his two sons, Robert Allen Lundy (Cheri) of Linton and Larry Dean Lundy (Sandy) of Switz City, nine grandchildren, Mike Nelson, Jason Lundy, Traci Goodwin, Miranda Graham, Jake Lundy, Courtney Lundy, Levi Lundy, Josh Lundy, and Cara Ashley, step-grandson, Shane Barnes, 24 great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild, a brother, Albert Franklin Lundy, one sister, Sarah Mae (Wayne) Hollingsworth, and a sister-in-law, Shirley Lundy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Bonnie (Hollingsworth), his daughter, Linda Bredeweg, brothers, James William Lundy and Willis Cedric Lundy.
Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, Pastor Dan Holtsclaw officiating. Burial in Switz City Cemetery, with military rites by the American Legion Post #22 of Linton.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 P.M., and Wednesday from 10 A.M. until the time of service.
