Robert "Buster" W. Scharbrough, age 66, of Linton, passed away at 6:05 P.M. on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. He was born in Muncie on November 16, 1952, the son of Robert E. Daniel Scharbrough and Patricia (Bailey) Scharbrough Vest.
Buster worked as a mechanic most of his life, retiring from Tom Wood Toyota.
He enjoyed rebuilding classic cars, going to car shows, camping, vacations, going to the drive-in, and mostly playing with his grandchildren, and spending time with his family and friends.
He was a member and president of the Recycled Rodz Car Club.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pearl Marlene (Sperling) Scharbrough of Linton, his mother, Patricia Vest of Lizton, three children, Amy (Jason) Gregory, Robert (Nikki Goodman) Scharbrough, and Dana (Levi Slagle) Haseman, all of Linton, his brothers, Wade Vest and Ed Vest, a sister, Shirley Carlton, fourteen grandchildren, Jesika, Jaysidee, Damian, Jacob, Blake, Bailey, Cooper, Tanner, Madyson, Kalyn, Kelli, Breanna, Makayla, and Brianna, and three great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Jaxson, and Karter.
He was preceded in death by his father, his step-father, Ernest Vest, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack & Pat Sperling.
Visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Sunday, June 30, 2019, from 2:00 P.M. until the time of funeral service at 6:00 P.M.
Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Linton at 12 noon on Monday, July 1.
