Sharla Ann Van Horn of Brownsburg, Indiana, passed away on March 14, 2018. She was born July 25, 1937 in Coal City, the daughter of John Benjamin and Dortha E. (Brown) Van Horn.
Sharla graduated from Linton High School in 1955. She retired from the Indianapolis Star News in 1999, having worked there for 44 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Harold Wayne (sister-in-law, June) and Paul Max Van Horn.
Sharla is survived by a brother, John David (Veda) Van Horn of Linton, her sister, Mary Elaine (Vernon) Burch of Bloomfield, a sister-in-law, Sandra Van Horn of Linton, nephews, Shawn (Leslie) Van Horn of Jasonville, and Kevin (Kim) and Eric (Heather) Van Horn, both of Linton, nieces, Debra (Gerald) Pruett of WorthingtonChantel (Greg) Eaton of Linton, Chanin Reed of Eden, and Melissa Burch and Amanda Tyler, both of Evansville, and many friends.
The family is honoring Sharla’s wishes with cremation and no public viewing or services.
Sharla’s final arrangements are in care of Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.
