Shirley Ann (McClure) Oberholtzer

January 19, 1935 ~ June 5, 2019 (age 84)

Shirley Ann Oberholtzer, age 84, of Bowling Green, passed away at 10:35 AM on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at her residence. She was born in Spencer on January 19, 1935, daughter of Barney & Mabel (Wagstaff) McClure.

Shirley was a 1953 graduate of Spencer High School.  Following her graduation, she married S. Paul Oberholtzer on May 31, 1953, and they recently celebrated their 66th anniversary.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, knitting, canning, cooking, and gardening.  She spent over 20 years as a 4-H leader.

She was a member of Spencer First Baptist Church and attended the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Bowling Green.

She is survived by her husband, her five children, Vicki (Marvin) Strouse, Cindy Lovett, Dennis (Kelly) Oberholtzer, Barbara (Philip) Gillaspy, and Paula (Shawn) Wood, eleven, grandchildren, Bryan (Julia) Strouse, Angie (Chad) Bainter, Chandra (Mike Rhea) Kumpf, Nick (Alyssa) Lovett, Nathan (Kelly) Lovett, Nyle Lovett, Robert Oberholtzer, Samuel Oberholtzer, Jonathan Oberholtzer, Ethan (Lexie) Wood, and Evan Wood, eleven great-grandchildren, Caleb, Cameron, Carter, Noah, Jayna, Cady, Wyatt, Lilly, Lincoln, Kalyn, and Josh, sisters-in-law, Dolores McClure, Connie McClure, Shirley McClure, and Anna Grace Oberholtzer, and brother-in-law, Ben Neiswinger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Robert "Bob" McClure, Richard McClure (infant), Ralph "Bud" McClure, and Gerald "Suds" McClure, a grandson-in-law, Paul Kumpf, and a son-in-law, Henry Lovett.

Funeral service will be held at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 9, 2019.  Burial will follow at Patricksburg Christian Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 5-8 P.M., and Sunday from 12 noon until the time of service.
