Terry Dean Montgomery, age 65, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 12:50 am on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Sullivan, IN on May 16, 1954, the son of Charles Dean Montgomery & Ester Lou (Brewer) Montgomery.
He was a graduate of Linton High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a self employed auto body finisher for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #22 where he was a past Commander, was a past President of the Sullivan County Shrine Club and was also part of the Sullivan F&AM Masonic Lodge #263.
His favorite things were spending time with his grandchildren, teasing people on a daily basis and cheering on his New York Yankees.
Terry is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Connie (Woods) Montgomery; children, Matthew (Hannah) Montgomery of Linton and Kylie Montgomery of Linton; grandchildren, Mattison Montgomery, Haven Montgomery, Berkley Deckard, Kaysen Brooks and Karter Stockrahm; mother, Ester Lou Montgomery of Dugger; brothers, Steven (Karen) Montgomery of Florida and Brian Montgomery of Dugger; sister, Lisa Nava of Texas; sister-in-law, Penny (Pat) Stone; brothers-in-law, Don (Joyce) Woods and Randall Woods; his honorary son, Cody Stockrahm; and his best-friend/brother, Warren Waterman.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles; son, Christopher Montgomery; daughter, Terra Montgomery and a grandson, Karson Montgomery.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Saturday, June 29, 2019, with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #22 and VFW Post #7118 of Linton.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
