Terry Lee Sparks

August 1, 1950 ~ April 3, 2018 (age 67)

Terry Lee Sparks, 67, of Linton, went home to join the glorious saints in light on Tuesday, April 3, at IU Bloomington Hospice House. He was born on August 1, 1950, in South Bend, Indiana, the son of Ralph and Lucille (Zeiger) Sparks.

Terry was a 1968 graduate of Washington High School in South Bend. He held an Associates Degree in Business from St. Leo College in Florida and a BA in Statistics from Indiana University at South Bend. He served seven years in the Air Force achieving the rank of Staff Sargent. He worked at Bendix Corp and Allied-Signal in South Bend; Berg Electronics in Franklin, Indiana and Healthnet in Indianapolis.

His gentleness, sense of humor, plethora of useless information and great faith in God are already missed.

He is survived by his wife, Rev. Doris (Parker) Sparks, whom he married August 7, 1971 in South Bend. Terry walked her home in sixth grade. He is also survived by two sons, Kenneth (Angie) Sparks of Jasper and Scott (Katie) Sparks of Fairbanks, IN, a daughter, Becca (Shaun) Lowry of Belmont, IN, four grandchildren, Madison and Ben Sparks of Granger, IN and Collin and Alyssa Schwenk of Jasper, his mother, Lucille Sparks of Sullivan, his brothers, Mark (Von) Sparks and Jeff (Mary) Sparks and two sisters, Melodie (Paula) Sparks and Lisa Sparks.

Terry was preceded in Death by his father Ralph.

Funeral service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Linton at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 7, 2018 with the pastor of Trinity officiating.  Military rites will immediately follow at the church.

Visitation will be held at the Welch & Cornett Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 pm. There will be no visitation at the church prior to the service.

Memorial contributions can be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church or Linton Community Food Pantry, through the funeral home.
